May 29 free clinic at hospital will provide utility budget counseling
New Britain [May 23 2014] -
Families can receive budget counseling for utility bills at a free Keep the Power On clinic from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, May 29 at The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s (HOCC) New Britain General campus. Event sponsors are HOCC and Medical Legal Partnership Project (MLPP) of the Center for Children’s Advocacy.
Clinic participants will meet with pro bono volunteers to discuss their utility issues and financial challenges. Northeast Utilities and Connecticut Natural Gas staff will be on site in an attempt to enter families into affordable payment arrangements. Other organizations represented will be HRA of New Britain and 211INFOLINE.

The hospital and Center for Children’s Advocacy offer the MLPP in New Britain, pairing pediatricians with attorneys to help Greater New Britain’s poor and at-risk children receive optimal medical care and services.
