Hospital offers free Diabetes Support Group
New Britain [May 20 2013] -
The Hospital of Central Connecticut offers a free, monthly Diabetes
Support Group for people who have completed the hospital’s comprehensive diabetes group education program and seek ongoing support and continuing education.
The support group will feature a 15- to 20-minute presentation by a certified diabetes educator or other speaker, followed by open discussion. The group is facilitated by Certified Diabetes Nurse Educator Linda Krikawa R.N., M.S.N., CDE, and Clinical Psychologist Carrie Lukens, Ph.D.
The group meets 5:30-6:45 p.m. in the diabetes classroom, third floor, New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St. Registration is not required, but for information, please call (860) 224-5900, X2079. Significant others, family members and friends are also welcome. The support group is not a substitute for attendance at the hospital’s comprehensive group classes.
