Hospital offers free, four-part workshop series for cancer survivors

The Hospital of Central Connecticut will hold a series of free workshops in April for survivors of all types of cancer who have completed treatment in the past two years, and those receiving maintenance or hormonal adjuvant therapy.
The series, Cancer Transitions: Your Life After Treatment, will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the hospital’s New Britain General campus, 100 Grand St. Registration is required; please contact Marcia, 860-224-5299 or manderson@thocc.org. Dates and topics are:
April 9, Lecture Room 2: “You are a Survivor…Now what?”, emotional well-being
April 16, Lecture Room 1: “Nutrition for Healthy Survivorship”
April 23, Lecture Room 2: “Getting Moving After Cancer Treatment”, exercise/rehab
April 30, Lecture Room 2: “Medical Management into Survivorship”
Participation in all four sessions is recommended, but not required. A healthy supper and free parking will be provided. Session leaders will include social workers, nurses, nutritionists, physical and occupational therapists and fitness experts.
