Hospital of Central Connecticut announces promotions

New Britain [July 26 2012] - The Hospital of Central Connecticut (HOCC) has promoted two people to senior leadership positions:

Mary Morgan of Southington has been named vice president of Human Resources. In her new position, she will oversee Human Resources, Education and Development, the hospital’s Child Care Center, Pastoral Care, and Volunteer Services.

Morgan joined the hospital in 1999 and has served in various Human Resources positions, most recently as director. Before joining the hospital, she worked at Rensselaer at Hartford, where she was responsible for enrollment management. Morgan earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Central Connecticut State University and a master’s of business administration from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a concentration in human resource management. In addition, she holds the certified compensation professional (CCP) designation from World at Work and training certifications from Development Dimensions International, VitalSmarts Crucial Conversations and Achieve Global.

Thomas Vaccarelli of Prospect has been named vice president of Facilities and Support Services. In his new role, he will oversee Public Safety, Parking, and administration of the hospital’s workers compensation program, in addition to support services at the hospital’s New Britain and Southington campuses and off-site facilities.

Vaccarelli joined the hospital in 2003 and has served in various positions, most recently as safety officer and senior director of Facilities. Before joining the hospital, he worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs for 15 years, the last five as facilities management director for the Connecticut campuses of the VA New England Healthcare System. He has also served on the board of directors for the West Haven Economic Development Corp. Vaccarelli earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of New Haven and is completing his master’s degree in health care administration from Quinnipiac University. He received his Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in 2010.
