Dr. Jayson Eversgerd Joins Staff at New Britain General
New Britain [July 13 2006] -
Jayson L. Eversgerd, D.O., M.S., has joined New Britain General Hospital’s Emergency Department as a full time physician.
Dr. Eversgerd completed his integrated residency in emergency medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine earlier this year, where he was awarded “Resident of the Year” for 2005–06 by the Connecticut College of Emergency Physicians. He received his medical degree at Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned the “Excellence in Emergency Medicine” award. He received his M.S. in biology at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville and his B.A. in biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, achieving membership in the Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. He was also honored with an award for “Outstanding Volunteer Effort” by the university for his work with a local hospice and other organizations.
Dr. Eversgerd is certified in many aspects of emergency care, including pediatric advanced life support and advanced cardiac life support.
He has lectured on trauma and critical care topics and recently published an article, “Transthoracic Lung Herniation due to Blunt Trauma,” in the Journal of Trauma.
Dr. Eversgerd currently resides in Southington.
