Auxiliary to Hold Fashion Show
New Britain [March 14 2007] -
The Hospital of Central Connecticut auxiliary will hold a luncheon-fashion show “Flirting With Fashion” at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell, Sunday, April 29. The event will help raise money toward the auxiliary’s five-year, $1 million pledge to support the cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology suite at the New Britain General campus.
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with cash bar/social hour, followed by the luncheon and show, featuring New Britain Mayor Timothy Stewart and his wife, Patricia among the celebrity models. The event costs $35. Invitations are available in the hospital’s New Britain General campus gift shop beginning March 16 or by calling (860) 224-5231.
Berlin residents and auxiliary board members Teri Polaske and Patricia Maerz are co-chairing the event, to feature fashions from Coldwater Creek of Canton, JoS. A. Bank Clothiers, Inc. of West Hartford, and Connecticut Furs, Inc. of New Britain.
Models include Dr. John Andreoli, associate chief of ob/gyn; Dr. Richard Dreiss, senior attending ob/gyn physician; Dr. Steven Hanks, senior vice president of medical affairs; Dr. Michael Loiacono, chief of anesthesia; and Dr. Wanda Kirejczyk, associate attending radiology physician.
Other models include auxiliary President Barbara Kirejczyk and board member Carol Conry, along with Michelle Gonzalez, Leonart Carlson, John Yuskis, Amy Eliades, Louise Jones, Kathy Polaske, Jillian Wanik and Leslie White. Hartford Courant columnist MaryEllen Fillo will be celebrity commentator.
A chocolate truffle sale will be held in conjunction with the show beginning March 16. Munson’s truffles will be on sale in the New Britain General campus gift shop and at the show. Purchase a two-truffle box and you’ll be entered into a drawing for a diamond pendant valued at $1,800.
