Patients Give Bradley Memorial Top Ratings

Southington [June 02 2006] - Bradley Memorial Hospital scored top ratings for patient satisfaction among Connecticut hospitals, according to a recently released quarterly report.

The hospital rated in the 99th percentile for patient satisfaction, compared to peer group hospitals in Connecticut. Bradley’s overall rating was nearly 90 — that is, in all areas, and compared to all hospitals using the Press Ganey survey. The Press Ganey survey is used by many hospitals throughout the U.S. to gauge patient satisfaction. Detailed questionnaires ask patients to rate everything from physician skill and courtesy, to sensitivity to privacy and complaints, to the general cleanliness and cheerfulness of the hospital.

By all measures, 90 percent or more of patients surveyed rated Bradley Memorial “excellent” in many specific areas, including nursing care, meals, discharge arrangements, physicians, and tests and treatments.

The dietary department has consistently rated high. The dietary staff see all patients daily to make sure patients are happy with their meals.
