Emergency Medicine Physician Joins Bradley Memorial & New Britain General Hospitals
New Britain [January 16 2006] -
Rene A. Hipona, MD, has joined the staffs of Bradley Memorial and New Britain General Hospitals. Dr. Hipona has been named the Associate Chief of Emergency Medicine for both hospitals, and is the Medical Director for Bradley’s emergency room.
Dr. Hipona most recently served as interim chairman of emergency medicine at the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven. He completed his emergency medical residency training at Brown University and his internal medicine residency at Yale University. He received his MD at the Far Eastern University in Manila, Phillipines. Dr. Hipona earned his bachelor of arts degree from Boston University.
Dr. Hipona is board certified in emergency medicine and a fellow of both the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the American College of Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Jeff A. Finkelstein, Chief of Emergency Medicine for both hospitals, said, “We are very excited that Dr. Hipona has joined our staff and is overseeing care at both hospitals and directing emergency care at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
