Bradley Memorial Hospital Golf Tournament Nets Close to $20,000 for Hospital Programs
Southington [June 07 2006] -
On a flawless May day, the 16th Annual Bradley Memorial Hospital Golf Tournament raised nearly $20,000 — the largest amount ever for this fundraiser at Hawk’s Landing Country Club in Southington.
One hundred and fifty golfers in high spirits enjoyed 18 holes of golf and various festivities while helping to raise funds for hospital programs. An enthusiastic team of 30 volunteers worked on the course throughout the day.
Major sponsors of this year’s tournament included Parson’s Buick of Plainville, the Hole-In-One contest sponsor; Perkins Travel Corporation / American Express, sponsors of the grand prize raffle; and Platinum Sponsors, ACS Healthcare Solutions; CenConn Services, Inc; and MRI of New Britain. More than 30 Gold, Tee & Benefactor sponsors helped the tournament to be as successful as it was. Peter Sydie of Mansfield, Connecticut was the grand prize raffle winner of two round-trip airfare tickets to anywhere in the U.S.
Body Balance Therapeutic Massage, of Southington, provided free chair massages at the event.
The tournament included several new contests, including an accuracy contest on the driving range, and a putting contest on the putting green, where after a single elimination tournament one golfer had a chance to putt for $5,000.
“We are so very grateful to the greater Southington community, the sponsors, the volunteers, and all involved for their support of this important and growing event,” said David Obedzinski, Director of Development at Bradley Memorial Hospital.
