Visiting guidelines
Please remember:
- Limit the number of visitors to two at a time.
- Keep visits cheerful and brief (10 to 15 minutes is suggested).
- Speak softly. Be considerate of other patients.
- Patient privacy is protected by law. Please do not discuss your loved one or other patients in public areas. Also, health information should be shared only with your loved one's caregivers and your family members.
- No smoking in the hospital.
- Cell phones must be turned off in patient care areas, but may be used in the Lobby and Cafeteria.
- Latex balloons are not permitted; Mylar balloons are OK.
- Flowers are not permitted in Intensive Care and Critical Care units.
Please consult with nursing staff before:
- Changing a patient's position.
- Offering help with medications.
- Bringing food or beverages to patients.
Infection control procedures:
- Children under 14 should not visit, since they are highly susceptible to infections.
- Do not visit when you are ill.
- Before entering and after leaving your love one's room, clean your hands with the Purell alcohol-based hand rub, in dispensers outside each room.
- Your loved one's caregivers will advise you of additional infection control procedures and precautions.
