Our History
The Wolfson Palliative Care Program began at the former New Britain General Hospital in 1998 through a generous donation from Samuel Wolfson, M.D., former chief of anesthesiology. Dr. Wolfson wanted to alleviate the pain and suffering associated with illness and dying.
By 2000, the Wolfson Palliative Care Program was providing direct inpatient care and family support; transitional care to home and community settings; education for clinicians of various disciplines; and outreach programs for the community. The Wolfson Palliative Care Program of The Hospital of Central Connecticut continues to grow in response to the needs of our community.
