Central CT Physical Medicine
The Hospital of Central Connecticut offers inpatient and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy.
Licensed physical and occupational therapists and speech language pathologists work with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to address each patient's needs and help him or her achieve maximum function.
Patients are given a thorough evaluation to help therapists and other members of the healthcare team develop an individual treatment plan that also includes home exercises. Therapists also educate patients to prevent further injury.
Physical Therapy (PT) addresses physical problems resulting from traumatic injuries, repetitive motions, diseases and other chronic conditions.
Occupational Therapy (OT) helps people of all ages, who because of physical, developmental, social or emotional problems, need special assistance to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.
Speech Therapy is designed to evaluate and treat individuals of all ages with developmental or neurological problems affecting their speech, language, cognition or swallowing.
