James L. Bernene

James L. Bernene, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Bernene, chief of Medicine at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology and metabolism. He is a professor of medicine, associate chairman of medicine and the assistant dean for clinical education at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Dr. Bernene received his medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, N.Y. He completed his medical residency at Cornell University - New York Hospital, and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at Albany Medical College. Dr. Bernene has been at the hospital since 1988. He has participated as a researcher in numerous diabetes clinical trials.

William A. Petit Jr.

William A. Petit Jr., M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.E.

Dr. Petit is the director of the Section of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Diabetes at the hospital. He is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism.

Dr. Petit received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, N.Y. His post-doctoral fellowship was in endocrinology and metabolism at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Petit is involved with numerous clinical research studies. He is a past president of the American Diabetes Association, Connecticut Affiliate, and was elected to the ADA Hall of Merit in 1994.

Joseph Rosenblatt

Joseph Rosenblatt, M.D.

Joseph Rosenblatt, M.D., is associate medical director at the Joslin Diabetes Center. Dr. Rosenblatt is board-certified in internal medicine, endocrinology and metabolism. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Connecticut Medical School, he completed his internal medicine residency at New Britain General Hospital.

He then completed two fellowships: in diabetes mellitus at the Joslin Clinic in Boston, Mass., and in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Rosenblatt is an assistant clinical professor in endocrinology-metabolism at the University of Connecticut Health Center. He is active in the American Diabetes Association and other professional organizations. Dr. Rosenblatt has been in private practice since 1982 in New Britain.

Youssef B. Khawaja

Youssef B. Khawaja, M.D.

Dr. Khawaja is a consultant physician in the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He also has a solo practice in internal medicine and endocrinology in Plantsville. Dr. Khawaja graduated from St. Joseph University School of Medicine in Beirut, Lebanon.

He received a certificate in endocrinology from Rene Descartes University in Paris, France. As part of the university program, he trained at numerous facilities, including Hotel Dieu de France Hospital in Beirut, Lebanon, Hospital Cochin and Hotel Dieu Hospital. He completed a residency in internal medicine in Trenton-affiliated hospitals in Trenton, NJ, and a fellowship in endocrinology in Montefiore Hospital in Bronx, N.Y. Dr. Khawaja is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Latha Dulipsingh

Latha Dulipsingh, M.D., FACP, FACE

Dr. Dulipsingh is medical director of the Bone Health and Osteoporosis Center and the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and an endocrinologist at Joslin. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endocrinology and Metabolism and the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Dulipsingh earned her bachelor's degrees in medicine and surgery from University of Madras, India. She completed an internship at Madras Medical College Hospital in India and an internship and residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center. She completed her fellowship in endocrinology at the University of Connecticut. Dr. Dulipsingh has been in practice since July 1998. She is also an associate professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center.

Michael Radin

Michael Radin, M.D.

Dr. Radin is an endocrinologist the Joslin Diabetes Center Affiliate at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and also has a private practice with Dr. William Petit in Plainville. Dr. Radin earned his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington.

He is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism as well as internal medicine. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Medical College of Virginia Hospitals, Richmond, VA., and his fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PA. Dr. Radin has been in practice since August 2005. He is also an associate professor of medicine at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
