The Hospital of Central Connecticut is proud to be a founding member, and the first hospital in New England, to be part of the WomenHeart National Hospital Alliance. This partnership with WomenHeart, the National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease, teams us with a patient-centered organization dedicated to women’s heart health through patient support, education and advocacy.
As an alliance member, the hospital offers the WomenHeart of Central Connecticut Support Network for women with heart disease. At the monthly peer-led network meetings, held at the hospital’s New Britain General campus, women will receive support, education and tools to help them deal with their heart concerns and issues. Leading the network is a WomenHeart champion, a woman who has also been impacted by a heart condition and attended the WomenHeart Science & Leadership Symposium at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn.
At support network meetings, you’ll learn about topics of value and interest to you, including heart disease, diet, medications and exercise. You’ll also get a hefty dose of peer support!
Our meetings are held 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of the month in Dining Rooms B&C, New Britain General campus. For more information or to register for a WomenHeart of Central Connecticut Support Network meeting, please call 860-224-5769.
