Critical care
Bradley Memorial campus: (860) 276-5350
New Britain General campus: (860) 224-5501
Patients with certain conditions, including acute myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure or unstable angina -- are treated in the Intensive Care Unit at the Bradley Memorial campus or the Critical Care Unit at the New Britain General campus.
The care team includes board-certified cardiologists, medical and surgical intensivists (doctors who specialize in intensive care), cardiac care nurses, respiratory therapists, cardiac rehabilitation specialists, nutritionists and other specially trained staff members. These units work closely with other departments, including Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and, at the New Britain General campus, the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
CCU and ICU staff also work with other hospital departments to help patients choose the best rehabilitation and wellness programs for their recovery.
