Coronary angiogram
This is a special image showing narrowed or clogged arteries that supply the heart muscle with blood. The cardiologist inserts a catheter into a blood vessel, usually in the groin area, then guides it to the heart. X-ray is used to precisely position the catheter, and a special dye injected into the coronary arteries. The images made when the contrast passes through the coronary arteries are called a coronary angiogram.
