Support groups
New Britain General campus: (860) 224-5299
With a cancer diagnosis, emotions previously dormant can surface with an intensity that can be overwhelming. The George Bray Cancer Center offers a variety of support groups for patients and loved ones.
These groups provide an opportunity to:
- Talk or simply listen
- Offer your opinions
- Laugh when you want to, or cry if you need to
- Discuss medications and their side effects
- Talk openly about social, emotional, and spiritual concerns
- Find new and more positive ways to cope with the problems of living with cancer.
Registration
All programs run throughout the year and are free to the public. Registration is required. Call the George Bray Cancer Center at 1-800-731-0096 to register, learn about current topics and guest speakers, or for cancellations due to inclement weather.
