Stephen H. Grund, M.D., PhD.
Dr. Grund is medical director of the George Bray Cancer Center. He is board-certified in oncology, hematology, and internal medicine, and is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Hematology.
He received his BS from Florida State University and his Ph.D. in genetics and molecular, cellular and developmental biology from Iowa State University. He received his doctorate of medicine from Harvard Medical School.
Following an internship and residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, he completed training as a research fellow and a clinical fellowship in hematology/oncology at the New England Medical Center.
Before coming to the New Britain area, Dr. Grund was an assistant professor of medicine, Division of Hematology and Oncology, Albany Medical College (AMC), Albany NY. While at AMC, Dr. Grund was also director of the Hematology/Oncology Fellowship Program and director of the third- and fourth-year clerkships in medicine. In June 0f 2002, Dr. Grund was appointed Chairman of the Albany Medical Center Cancer Committee.

William H. Pogue, M.D.
Dr. Pogue is a senior attending physician in Hematology/Oncology and chairman of the Blood Bank Advisory Committee. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his postgraduate training at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a fellowship in hematology at the University of Connecticut Health Center.
He is a clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine at University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Peter D. Byeff, M.D.
Dr. Byeff is a senior attending hematologist/oncologist. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and did his postgraduate training at Georgetown University Hospital and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and its sub-specialties of hematology and medical oncology.
He is the chief of Hematology/Oncology at the Bradley Memorial campus in Southington and is an associate professor of Medicine and attending physician at the University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital. A principal investigator for the Eastern Cooperative Group (ECOG), and National Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), he has authored several scientific articles and abstracts. Kenneth Smith, M.D.
Dr. Smith is an attending hematologist/oncologist specializing in all types of cancers, with special interest and experience in lymphomas, leukemia, and myelomas. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and board-certified in both Oncology and Hematology. Before joining the hospital, he was professor of Medicine and director of the Division of Hematoloy/Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia.
He is an undergraduate of Fordham University in New York City and a graduate of Cornell Medical College. He completed his residency at the Hospitals of the University of Pittsburgh, and a Fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the Hospitals of the University of Washington in Seattle.

Barbara G. Fallon, M.D.
Dr. Fallon is an attending hematologist/oncologist. She is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology, certified in hospice and palliative care, and is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine as well as the American Pain Society. She received her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine and did her post-graduate training in medical oncology at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
She served as a clinical Fellow and instructor in Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Fallon is an assistant professor of Medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. Dr. Fallon has lectured extensively in breast cancer, risk reduction and treatment as well as assessment and treatment of pain, palliative care and care at the end of life. Mansour S. Isckarus, M.D., M.R.C.P.
Dr. Isckarus is an attending hematologist/oncologist. He is board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and hematology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He holds several postgraduate certificates, including Membership of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom. He is a member of the Hartford County Medical Society and the Connecticut State Medical Society.
Dr. Isckarus received his medical degree from Alexandria University, Alexandria, Egypt. He completed a Fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY and a residency at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pa. Alan Perlmutter, M.D., F.R.C.P.C.
Dr. Perlmutter is a board-certified associate attending radiation oncologist and associate chief of Radiation Oncology at the New Britain General campus.
He is a licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada and a Diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine and completed his postgraduate work at the Princess Margaret Hospital and Toronto Bayview Regional Cancer Center affiliated with the University of Toronto, Canada. Dr. Perlmutter is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada, and a Fellow of the American Board of Radiology.

Neal B. Goldberg, M.D.
Dr. Goldberg is chief of the Radiation Oncology Department at The Hospital of Central Connecticut and a board-certified, senior attending radiation oncologist. He received his medical degree from Columbia University and completed his postgraduate work at Yale University School of Medicine.
Before joining the hospital, he was an assistant professor in the Department of Therapeutic Radiology at the Yale University School of Medicine. He was an attending radiation therapist at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Dr. Goldberg is a member of the American College of Radiology, American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

James S. Hoffman, M.D.
Dr. Hoffman is a board certified, senior attending obstetrician-gynecologist at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He has a Certificate of Special Competence in gynecologic oncology from the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein Medical School and completed his postgraduate training in OB/GYN and Fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan.

Amy Kirkpatrick Brown, M.D., M.P.H.
Dr. Brown earned her master's degree in public health and her medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, N.Y. and a fellowship in women's oncology at Women and Infants' Hospital in Providence, R.I.
