Classes
The Family BirthPlace offers a variety of classes to prepare you for birth and new parenthood. Please call early in your pregnancy to register for a class.
Topics include
- Stages and phases of labor and birth
- Relaxation, breathing and other coping skills
- Cesarean birth options
- Postpartum family planning and early parenting
- Hospital tour
The following are included in the above Prepared Childbirth Education Program for one inclusive fee.
Breast-feeding Class
In-depth presentation on nursing your baby. Many tips for success. Ongoing support and consultation is available through the instructor.
Sibling Class
Presentation and tour of the Family BirthPlace for sisters and brothers of the new baby. Offered one Saturday each month.
The following programs are also available for an additional fee.

- Pediatric CPR

LOVELINE
Family BirthPlace nurses have developed the LOVELINE to support new parents after they have returned home. Call (860) 224-LOVE (860-224-5683) anytime, 24 hours a day, and our nurses will be available to offer advice on caring for yourself or your newborn during the first six weeks post delivery.
