Kathleen Boudreau Scholarship
Each year, The Hospital of Central Connecticut’s New Britain General campus Auxiliary program awards The Kathleen Boudreau Scholarship for high school students pursuing nursing careers.
The $500 scholarship was created in memory of Kathleen Boudreau by her daughter, Marleen Boudreau Flory of St. Peter, Minn. Kathleen Boudreau was born in Ireland in 1919, and grew up in Long Island, N.Y., before relocating to New Britain. She completed her LPN degree at Hartford Hospital and worked in New Britain convalescent homes for several years. She volunteered at New Britain General Hospital through the 1970s and ’80s.
For an application packet for the 2008 Boudreau scholarship, download the pdf file below; call the New Britain General campus volunteer office, (860) 224-5231; or visit your school high guidance office.
Completed applications are due by June 9 and must be submitted to the Volunteer Service Office, HCC at New Britain General, 100 Grand St., New Britain, CT 06050. One high school senior will be selected and announced by a screening committee in July.
