Hospital names Fallon medical director, breast program

[June 14 2012] - The Hospital of Central Connecticut has named hematologist-oncologist Barbara Fallon, M.D., medical director of its breast program.

In this new role, Fallon will guide breast program development with a focus on strengthening program excellence in patient care and research efforts. She will work closely with the medical and hospital staff to assure the optimal clinical and service experience for patients and their families.

Fallon, in private practice with Grove Hill Medical Center, earned her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine internship and residency at Beth Israel Hospital (now Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center), Boston; and a medical oncology fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Harvard Medical School, both in Boston.

Fallon is a registered investigator with the National Institutes of Health. She is a fellow of the American College of Physicians; board-certified in internal medicine and medical oncology; and certified by the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine.
