Hospital's Family Enrichment Center hosts open house
[June 14 2012] -
The Hospital of Central Connecticut's Family Enrichment Center hosted a well-attended ribbon cutting and open house on May 17 to celebrate the opening of its convenient and spacious new location on the hospital's New Britain General campus.
The event, open to the public, had nearly 150 attendees, including politicians, local business owners, physicians, representatives from other hospitals and community members.
The Family Enrichment Center, at 32 Hawkins St., houses several programs, offered at no cost to families in Greater New Britain. Among the Center's offerings is the Mothers Offering Mothers Support (M.O.M.S.) program for mothers 21 and younger; Nurturing Families Network, which focuses on needs of first-time families; and Parents as Teachers Program, consisting of four separate yet related offerings, each providing support and education to increase parenting skills.
Center services are supported by The Hospital of Central Connecticut; Children's Trust, a division of The Connecticut Department of Social Services; and Connecticut Department of Public Health. For more information about the Family Enrichment Center, please call 860-224-5373.
