To ensure effective communication with patients and their companions who are deaf or hearing impaired, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides, for free:
- Sign language and oral interpreters
- TTYs
- Note-takers and computer-assisted real time transcription services
- Written materials
- Telephone handset amplifiers and hearing aid-compatible phones
- Assistive listening devices and systems
- Other programs/devices
