Regional Psychiatric Clinician - Crisis

Position Duties:
  A regional position that performs psychiatric evaluations of Emergency Department patients at both Midstate Medical Center and The Hospital of Central Connecticut to determine Psychiatric/Substance Abuse Care needs. Assures access, provides assessment, coordinates required resources and partners with receiving programs and clinicians. By utilizing excellent communication and negotiation skills, focuses on providing the appropriate service in the most cost-effective formula to assure that the patient, provider, payor and the health care organizations goals are met. Reports to Unit Manager/Program Director. * Benefit eligible position*
Educational Requirements:
  Masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Substance Abuse.
Minimum Requirements:
  LCSW or LPC required.
Minimum of 1 year experience in acute care/hospital setting.
Regional travel is required between New Britain and Meriden campuses.
Preferred Qualifications:
  Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Strong documentation and computer skills.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills. A
bility to work under pressure and in a fast paced environment. E
xcellent time management and documentation skills.
Bi-lingual highly preferred.
Hours:
  24 hours (12 hr shifts) - including weekends and holidays on rotation
