Dr. Byeff is the medical director of the George Bray Cancer Center. He received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and did his postgraduate training at Georgetown University Hospital and Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and its sub-specialties of hematology and medical oncology.
He is the division director of Hematology/Oncology at the Bradley Memorial campus and is an associate professor of Medicine and attending physician at the University of Connecticut John Dempsey Hospital. A principal investigator for the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), and National Adjuvant Breast and Bowel Project (NSABP), he has authored several scientific articles and abstracts. From 2004-2007, he participated in the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Work Force Needs task force.

Brian J. Byrne, M.D., is a hematologist/oncologist and director of Oncology Research at the hospital’s George Bray Cancer Center.
He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, and completed a residency at Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C.

James Hoffman, MD (Lead Principal Investigator, Gynecologic Oncology Group) |

Dr. Hoffman is a board-certified, senior attending obstetrician-gynecologist and director of Gynecological Oncology at The Hospital of Central Connecticut. He is board-certified in gynecologic oncology and in obstetrics and gynecology. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein Medical School and completed his postgraduate training in OB/GYN and Fellowship training in gynecologic oncology at the University of Michigan.
He is an associate clinical professor of OB/GYN at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Dr. Hoffman is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists as well as president of the New England Association of Gynecologic Oncologists.
He is the Lead Principal Investigator for Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG) trials at HCC and oversees the GOG trials at Hartford Hospital, Sinai Medical Center, Baystate Health Center, and UConn Health Center.
